Tampa Bay Rays -205 / Baltimore Orioles +180 O/U: 8.5
The Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays will continue their MLB series on Wednesday.
In the Monday opener of this set, the Rays managed a 6-3 win. On Tuesday, the Rays scored four runs in the sixth and seventh innings on the way to a 6-3 victory again.
For the Wednesday game, the Orioles are sending out John Means for the start. Across his 75.2 innings and 7-4 mark this year, Means has a 2.50 ERA with 64 Ks and 22 BBs.
Baltimore put up six hits in the loss Tuesday. No player had more than one knock, but Chris Davis managed a solo homer, which is pretty rare these days.
Over on the Rays’ side, they’re opening with Ryne Stanek on Wednesday. Stanek has an 0-1 record this year with a 2.64 ERA and 51 strikeouts.
Tampa logged eight hits in the Tuesday win. Leading the way for the team was Brandon Lowe, who had a solo homer, three hits and two RBI.
The Orioles are 16-37 in their last 53 Wednesday games and 20-56 in their last 76 in game three of a series. Baltimore is 2-5 in Means’ last seven starts and 0-5 in his last five road starts.
Meanwhile, the Rays are 5-13 in their last 18 in game three of a series and 19-7 in their last 26 games versus a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15. The under is 6-1-4 in Tampa Bay’s last 11 in game three of a series as well.
The Orioles made some roster moves on Monday and shuffled their rotation around, so it will be interesting to see how the new guys adjust and impact the club moving forward. Means has been really solid lately for what it’s worth. Over his last three starts, he’s 2-0 with 15.0 innings and just three earned.
I don’t always pick the Orioles, but when I do, Means is on the mound.
