Tampa Bay, Florida
Tampa Bay Rays +104 / Houston Astros -114 O/U: 8
The Houston Astros and the Tampa Bay Rays will lock horns in MLB Action on Sunday.
The two teams split the first couple of games in this set, 5-1 Astros and 4-2 Rays. On Saturday, the Rays pulled out a 3-1 victory.
For the Sunday game, Houston will be sending out the veteran Wade Miley. In his 2018 campaign with the Brewers, Miley bagged a 5-2 record with a 2.57 ERA in 80.2 innings with 50 Ks.
In the Saturday game, the Astros’ top hitters were George Springer and Josh Reddick, who each managed a pair of hits apiece.
Over on the Rays’ side, they were expected to use an “opener” for the first time this year, but it’s looking like Yonny Chirinos will get the call and perform in the traditional manner.
In the game on Saturday, Tampa’s Tommy Pham, Kevin Kiermier and Michael Perez each managed an RBI. Perez and Ji-Man Choi both put up two hits in that one as well.
The Astros are 41-16 in their last 57 road games and 35-17 in their last 53 overall. Houston 1-5 in their last six versus the AL East and the over is 3-1-1 in the last five Sunday games.
Meanwhile, the Rays are 7-0 in their last seven Sunday games and the over is 3-1-1 in the last five Sunday games. The under is 5-2 in the Rays’ last seven in game four of a series and they’re 4-11 in their last 15 in game four of a series.
Well, this should be a fun one. Tampa is poised to do a little damage in their extremely competitive division this year, and a Wild Card isn’t out of the question.
The thing is, the Rays have to start these series out well, even versus quality competition. With Miley on the mound that’ll be tricky but I like Tampa to eke one out here.
