MLB | Houston Astros (55-29) at Tampa Bay Rays (40-41)
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Coming up Sunday from Tropicana Field, the Houston Astros and the Tampa Bay Rays will be finishing up their MLB series.

The two teams split the first pair of games in this set (each winning by one run), then on Saturday the Rays banged out a 5-2 win, scoring all their runs in the first two innings.

For the Sunday game, the Astros will be sending out RHP Charlie Morton. In his 95.2 innings and 10-1 mark this year, Morton has a 2.54 ERA with 122 Ks and 39 BBs.

Jose Altuve leads the Astros in hitting this year with 112 hits, 55 runs and 41 RBI coming into the weekend. In game three, Altuve had two hits.

Over on the Rays’ side, they’re going with Blake Snell on Sunday. Over 101.1 innings and a 10-4 record this year, Snell has a 2.31 ERA with 113 Ks and 40 BBs.

Matt Duffy is the top Rays hitter this year, bringing 81 hits, 22 runs and 23 RBI into the weekend. On Saturday, Duffy had three hits and two runs.

The Astros are 10-4 in their last 14 Sunday games and 4-0 in Morton’s last four starts. Houston is also 1-4 in Morton’s last five starts with four days’ rest and 10-4 in his last 14 starts versus the AL East.

Meanwhile, the Rays are 4-9 in their last 13 Sunday games and 5-1 in Snell’s last six home starts. Tampa is also 6-2 in Snell’s last eight starts and 1-4 in his last five starts in game four of a series.

Morton has been on cruise control most of the season, and since his bad start versus Boston (six earned in 5.1 innings), he’s allowed just four earned over four starts. Snell has been awesome lately as well, allowing more than two earned just once in his last eight starts. This should be an awesome pitching matchup and realistically could go either way but I trust the Astros just a little bit more.

Houston Astros -153
