Tampa Bay, Florida
Tampa Bay Rays -130 / Los Angeles Angels +119 O/U: 9
The Los Angeles Angels and the Tampa Bay Rays will match up on the MLB diamond to finish their series on Sunday.
In the Thursday opener of this set, the Angels put up a 5-3 win, and Tampa struck back 9-4 Friday. On Saturday in game three, LA bagged a 5-3 win.
For the Sunday finale, the Angels will be going with Griffin Canning in the start. Over his 44.1 innings and 2-2 mark so far, Canning has a 3.65 ERA with 47 Ks and 10 BBs.
In the Saturday win, LA managed seven hits on the afternoon. Two of those came courtesy of David Fletcher, who snagged a two-run homer as well.
Over on the Rays’ side, Ryne Stanek will be making the start Sunday. Stanek has an 0-1 mark thus far with a 2.54 ERA and 43 Ks.
Tampa Bay put up six hits in their Saturday loss. All the team’s runs on the day came courtesy of Yandy Diaz’s three-run homer in the sixth inning.
The Angels are 4-0 in their last four in game four of a series and the over is 6-2 in their last eight Sunday games. The under is 3-0-1 in Canning’s last four starts with five days’ rest and 6-1-1 in his last eight starts overall.
Meanwhile, the Rays are 13-4 in their last 17 Sunday games and 4-1 in their last five in game four of a series. The over is 4-1 in the Rays’ last five Sunday games.
Canning has pitched fairly well recently. He has three quality starts in his last five outings, and a total of nine earned in his last 30.0 innings. That said, it’s also worth noting that Canning has given up seven earned in his last 12.0 innings and is 0-1 in his last four starts.
All things considered though, if Canning can come out and pitch well here the Angels should be in a good position.
