The New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays will continue their MLB series with another game Saturday.

On Thursday, the Yankees managed an 8-4 extra-innings win. In the Friday game, New York pushed it to the 11th inning before bagging four runs and hanging on, 8-4 again.

For Saturday’s matchup, the Yankees will be bringing out CC Sabathia for the start. Over 69.0 innings and a 5-4 mark so far, Sabathia has a 4.04 ERA with 66 Ks and 26 BBs.

Over on the Rays’ side, they’re going with Blake Snell on Saturday. Across his 85.0 innings and 5-7 record this year, Snell has a 4.87 ERA with 117 Ks and 29 BBs.

The Yankees are 14-3 in their last 17 in game three of a series and 1-4 in Sabathia’s last five road starts. New York is 4-1 in Sabathia’s last five starts with 11 or more days’ rest and 38-15 in their last 53 overall.

Meanwhile, the Rays are 2-6 in their last eight in game three of a series and 16-5 in Snell’s last 21 starts with five days’ rest. Tampa is 6-2 in Snell’s last eight Saturday starts and 21-7 in his last 28 home starts.

The Yankees are happy if they can get five good innings out of the veteran Sabathia these days, but he’s been surpassing expectations during his consecutive quality starts. In that time Sabathia has three earned in 12.0 innings on nine hits—both wins.

As for Snell, he put up 13 earned in just 3.2 innings over two starts last month but calmed down his last time out with two earned in 6.0 innings against the Rangers.

Still, if Sabathia keeps rolling like this, and the bats stay hot, I like the Yankees here.
