The Line: Texas Rangers +150 / Arizona Diamondbacks -160 --- Over/Under: 10
Coming up Tuesday from Globe Life Park, we’ve got MLB action coming as the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Texas Rangers continue their series.
In the Monday opener, the Rangers scored three times in the fourth and banged out a 5-3 victory.
For Tuesday’s matchup, the Diamondbacks are going with lefty Patrick Corbin. In his 148.2 innings and 9-4 record this year, Corbin has a 3.15 ERA with 183 Ks and 37 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Diamondbacks this season is David Peralta, who entered this set with 128 Ks, 59 runs, 21 homers and 60 RBI. On Monday, Peralta had a hit and an RBI.
Over on the Rangers’ side, they’re rolling with Yovani Gallardo on Tuesday. Across 53.0 innings and a 7-1 mark this year, Gallardo has a 6.11 ERA with 32 Ks and 26 BBs.
Leading the way for the Rangers hitters is Shin-Soo Choo, who came into this series on 119 hits, 68 runs, 20 homers and 56 RBI. In the opener, Choo posted one hit.
The Diamondbacks are 19-7 in their last 26 Tuesday games and 15-6 in their last 21 during game two of a series. Arizona is also 4-0 in Corbin’s last four starts and 6-1 in his last seven road starts.
Meanwhile, the Rangers are 1-5 in their last six Tuesday games and 6-0 in Gallardo’s last six home starts. Texas is 21-7 in Gallardo’s last 28 starts and 5-2 in his last seven starts in game two of a series.
Corbin has put up three quality starts in his last four outings, with the lone outlier being a four-earned effort in San Diego across 6.0 frames. As for Gallardo, if you throw out the relative stinker against Baltimore (five earned in 5.1 innings, and still a win), he’s given up just two earned in 17.1 innings. This should be a fun pitching matchup but I’m going to stick with the Diamondbacks here.
