The Line: Texas Rangers -150 / Baltimore Orioles +140 --- Over/Under: 10.5
Globe Life Park will come alive again Saturday evening, as the Baltimore Orioles and the Texas Rangers meet up to continue their MLB series.
Texas thrashed Baltimore in the opener Thursday 17-8, then in game two Friday the Rangers didn’t let up for an 11-3 win.
For the Saturday game, the Orioles will be sending out RHP Dylan Bundy. In his 115.1 innings and 7-9 mark this season, Bundy has a 4.53 ERA with 123 Ks and 35 BBs.
Adam Jones holds the hits lead for the Orioles, as he came into Friday on 119 hits, 42 runs, 11 homers and 44 RBI. In game two, Jones had a hit.
As for the Rangers, they’re going with Mike Minor on Saturday. Across 110.1 innings and a 7-6 mark this year, Minor has a 4.73 ERA with 92 Ks and 26 BBs.
Shin-Soo Choo sits atop the Rangers’ hitting stat list, bringing 112 hits, 63 runs, 20 homers and 51 RBI into Friday. In that game, Choo had a hit, a run and an RBI.
The Orioles are 18-37 in their last 55 Saturday games and 9-27 in their last 36 during game three of a series. Baltimore is also 3-7 in Bundy’s last 10 road starts and 2-6 in his last eight starts with five days’ rest.
Meanwhile, the Rangers are 2-5 in their last seven in game three of a series and 1-4 in Minor’s last five starts. Texas is 4-1 in Minor’s last five starts versus a team with a losing record and the over is 4-1-1 in their last six Saturday games.
Bundy had a string of three bad starts in July, allowing a combined 15 earned across 12.1 innings for an 0-2 result. Minor has had a few hiccups as well, but has allowed just four earned over his last two outings. I’m not going to overthink this matchup; I’ll go Rangers and not look back.
