The Chicago White Sox and the Texas Rangers will match up on the MLB diamond Saturday to continue their series.

In the Friday opener of this set, we had a 10-inning affair and Chicago squeaked out a 5-4 win.

For the Saturday game, the Sox will be sending out Odrisamer Despaigne in the start. Across 10.1 innings and an 0-2 mark so far, Despaigne has an 8.71 ERA with seven Ks and six walks.

Chicago managed 12 hits in the Friday game. Four players had multiple hits for the Sox in that one, and Ryan Cordell led the team on a 3-for-4 line.

Over on the Rangers’ side, they’re going with Lance Lynn on Saturday. In his 93.0 innings and 8-4 record this year, Lynn has a 4.16 ERA with 102 Ks and 24 BBs.

Texas put up eight hits in the Friday loss, and scored just one run after the second inning. Shin-Soo Choo was tops for the Rangers with his 3-for-4 evening.

The White Sox are 5-2 in the last seven in game two of a series and 17-35 in the last 52 Saturday games. The under is 4-1 in Chicago’s last five Saturday games as well.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are 4-0 in their last four Saturday games and 6-1 in their last seven in game two of a series. Texas is 6-1 in Lynn’s last seven home starts and 5-1 in his last six with four days’ rest.

This will be Despaigne’s third start with the White Sox, and though he got out of trouble in the first inning his last time up versus the Yankees, he ended on seven earned in 4.1 innings.

Lynn on the other hand is on fire. He’s got eight straight quality starts to his credit but is just 4-2 in that span thanks to some spotty support otherwise. Still, with Lynn on the mound I have to go Rangers here.
