Texas Rangers -130 / Los Angeles Angels +120 O/U: 10.5
The Los Angeles Angels and the Texas Rangers will match up for game two of their MLB set on Tuesday.
In the Monday opener of this set, LA jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first, but the Rangers managed a 12-7 victory in the end.
For Tuesday’s game, the Angels will be sending out Matt Harvey for the start. Across his 14.1 innings and 0-1 mark this year, Harvey has a 10.05 ERA with 11 Ks and seven walks.
In Monday’s loss, Kole Calhoun put up a two-run homer with three hits and two runs on the night. Brian Goodwin also logged three RBI on the evening for the Angels.
Over on the Rangers’ side, they’re going with Mike Minor on Tuesday. Over his 18.2 innings and 1-1 record this season, Minor has a 3.86 ERA with 15 Ks and six walks.
In the winning effort Monday, the Rangers’ Joey Gallo was the big hitter on a solo homer, three hits, two runs and two RBI.
The Angels are 4-1 in their last five Tuesday games and the under is 5-2 in the last seven Tuesday games. The under is 5-2 in LA’s last seven in game two of a series and 9-4 in their last 13 games versus a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.
Meanwhile, the Rangers are 1-4 in Minor’s last five starts and 1-4 in his last five Tuesday starts. Texas is 5-1 in Minor’s last six starts versus the AL West and 4-1 in their last five in game two of a series.
Harvey has fallen from grace not just over the last couple of years but over his last couple of starts, as he’s got 14 earned on 17 hits in his last 8.1 innings. There aren’t a whole lot of ways to positively spin Harvey’s performances in that time.
As for Minor, he stumbled in his opener (six earned; 4.2 innings) but has since recorded two straight quality starts. I like Minor to keep it going and help the Rangers bag a win here.
