The Los Angeles Angels look for another victory after winning seven of their last 10 games. The Angels have scored 16 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in eight of their last 10 games. The Los Angeles Angels have won eight of their last 11 games when scoring at least one run. Odrisamer Despaigne gets the ball, and he is 2-0 with a 5.31 ERA and 18 strikeouts this season. This will be Despaigne’s second career game against the Rangers.
The Texas Rangers look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last 12 games. The Rangers have scored 17 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in eight of their last 13 games. The Texas Rangers have won six of their last eight games when scoring more than three runs. The Rangers are 4-1 in their last 5 Friday games, 4-0 in Minors last 4 Friday starts and 1-6 in Minors last 7 starts vs. American League West. The Angels are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Texas, 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and the under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
if we're going to be honest, Despaigne has been awful for nearly his entire career, and the 20.1 innings he's pitched this season for the Miami Marlins wasn't different. Despaigne gets hit hard and has a problem with walking guys as well. Minor has had struggles of his own, but he has a solid 3.33 ERA and an allowed batting average of .220 at home. I'm going to back the Rangers in this game. Despaigne is an automatic fade.
