The Line: Texas Rangers +101 / Oakland Athletics -111 --- Over/Under: 11.5
The Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers meet Wednesday in MLB action at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
The Oakland Athletics look to stay hot while building on their four-game winning streak. The Athletics have scored 34 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in four straight games. The Oakland Athletics have won eight straight games when scoring more than one run. Jed Lowrie leads the Athletics with 106 hits and 65 RBI while Marcus Semien and Khris Davis have combined for 192 hits and 110 RBI. Edwin Jackson gets the ball, and he is 1-2 with a 2.93 ERA and 23 strikeouts this season. Jackson is 2-3 with a 4.02 ERA and 41 strikeouts in his career against the Rangers.
The Texas Rangers could use a feel good win here after losing four of their last five games. The Rangers have allowed 28 runs in their last two games and nine or more runs in four of their last five games. The Texas Rangers have lost 11 of their last 12 games when allowing at least one run. Offensively, Shin-Soo Choo leads the Rangers with 105 hits and 44 RBI while Nomar Mazara and Jurickson Profar have combined for 176 hits and 104 RBI. Martin Perez gets the ball, and he is 2-4 with a 8.05 ERA and 21 strikeouts this season. Perez is 8-7 with a 5.23 ERA and 53 strikeouts in his career against the Athletics.
The Athletics are 4-0 in their last 4 Wednesday games, 6-1 in their last 7 during game 3 of a series and 22-8 in their last 30 road games. The Rangers are 7-3 in their last 10 Wednesday games, 1-4 in their last 5 during game 3 of a series and 1-5 in Perezs last 6 starts. The Rangers are 6-2 in Perezs last 8 starts vs. Athletics, 4-0 in Perezs last 4 home starts vs. Athletics and the under is 11-4-2 in the last 17 meetings.
At this point it's not about starting pitchers or lineups, the Oakland Athletics are a scrappy bunch that simply find ways to win when they take the field, and last nights result was another example of that. The A's have also been the ebst team over the last month and a half, while the Texas Rangers pitching staff gets rocked nightly and can't feel any better after giving up an eight-run lead. The Oakland Athletics are one of those teams you just blindly back, as they always get cheap prices and have been the best team in baseball since mid-June. Give me the A's yet again.
