Texas Rangers TBA / Seattle Mariners TBA
The Seattle Mariners and the Texas Rangers will meet up in MLB action on Tuesday to continue their series.
In the Monday opener, Texas scored five runs in the first and held on for a wild eighth and ninth inning for a 15-13 win.
For Tuesday’s game, the Mariners will be sending out Tommmy Milone for the start. This will be a Triple-A recall for the 32-year-old lefty.
Seattle popped 13 hits in the Monday loss, but didn’t really get going until late in the game (seven runs in the last pair of frames). Tim Beckham logged three hits in that one, with one run and five RBI.
Over on the Rangers’ side, they’re going with Lance Lynn on Tuesday. Over his 54.2 innings and 5-3 mark this year, Lynn has a 4.94 ERA with 49 Ks and 18 BBs.
Texas logged 15 hits in the Monday win, and they needed all of them. The Rangers added two runs in the fourth and three in the seventh to their five in the first for the two-run victory.
The Mariners are 1-4 in their last five Tuesday games and 1-5 in their last six in game two of a series. The under is 14-6-1 in the Mariners’ last 21 Tuesday games and 7-3-2 in the last 12 in game two of a series.
Meanwhile, the Rangers are 5-17 in their last 22 Tuesday games and 4-0 in Lynn’s last four starts after a quality start in his last appearance. Texas is 5-2 in Lynn’s last seven starts and 5-2 in his last seven on grass.
Looking at Lynn’s last four outings, he’s been pretty good. There’s one sketchy one in there (five earned on eight hits in 6.0 innings), but oddly enough it was still a win. The other three in that quartet of Lynn’s most recent games were all quality starts and yielded just five earned in total.
If Lynn can keep it going, I like the Rangers to be in a good spot for a home win here.
