|Date & Time||Tuesday May 26, 2015, 7:07 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Toronto Blue Jays -160 / Chicago White Sox +135 --- Over/Under: 9
The Toronto Blue Jays and the Chicago White Sox face off on Tuesday at the Rogers Centre in game one of their MLB series.
The Toronto Blue Jays jumped on the White Sox early on Monday and never looked back as they won easily. Josh Donaldson and Justin Smoak each had two hits including a home run and Jose Reyes had a hit as the Blue Jays scored six runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Drew Hutchison went the distance allowing four hits and striking out eight going the full 9.0 innings to get the win. For Tuesday’s game the Blue Jays start R.A. Dickey who has allowed 54 hits and 36 earned runs while striking out 30 over 59 innings for a 2-5 record and a 5.49 ERA.
The Chicago White Sox couldn’t get any offense going as they were shutout in Toronto on Monday. Gordon Beckham, Melky Cabrera, and Avisail Garcia each had hits as the White Sox had four hits but didn’t score a run. Starting pitcher Hector Noesi allowed five hits and five runs while striking out four over 7.0 innings to take the loss. For Tuesday’s game the White Sox start John Danks who has allowed 47 hits and 25 runs while striking out 32 over 44 innings for a 2-4 record and a 5.11 ERA.
Toronto is 8-3 in their last 11 games a favorite, 2-5 in game two of a series, and 3-7 in Dickey’s last 10 starts. Chicago is 5-1 in their last six road games, 2-9 against the AL East, and 1-5 in Danks’ last six starts in game two of a series. Chicago is 8-4 in their last 12 games in Toronto.
Once again we have a game that I honestly don’t love but I can see the White Sox bats getting going and getting the win here.
