MLB | Houston Astros (98-57) at Toronto Blue Jays (71-85)
Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Astros and the Toronto Blue Jays will be continuing their MLB set on Tuesday from Rodgers Centre.

In the Monday opener, the Astros scored four times in the first three innings and hung on for a 5-3 win.

For Tuesday’s game, the Astros will be sending out Josh James for the start. In his 16.0 innings and 1-0 record this year, James has a 2.81 ERA with 24 Ks and six walks.

Tops in hitting for Houston this year is Alex Bregman, with 166 hits, 103 runs, 30 homers and 100 RBI heading into this set. On Monday, Bregman put up a hit and an RBI.

Over on the Jays’ side, they’re going tie Sam Gaviglio on Tuesday. Across 113.0 innings and a 3-8 record this season, Gaviglio has a 5.18 ERA with 99 Ks and 33 BBs.

Leading the way for the Jays’ offense is Kevin Pillar, who entered this series with 124 hits, 62 runs, 14 homers and 56 RBI. In the opener, Pillar hit a two-run homer.

The Astros are 10-2 in their last 12 Tuesday games and 41-16 in their last 57 in game two of a series. The under is 10-1-2 in Houston’s last 13 Tuesday games and 5-2-1 in their last eight in game two of a series.

Meanwhile, the Jays are 2-8 in Gaviglio’s last 10 starts and 1-6 in his last seven starts with four days’ rest. Toronto is 1-7 in Gaviglio’s last eight starts versus a team with a winning record and the over is 5-1-1 in their last seven Tuesday games.

James has pitched pretty well in his limited action this year, and in his last start he put up zero earned with four hits in 5.1 innings against the Mariners. As for Gaviglio, he had a couple of rough starts there, but over his last pair he’s got four earned on 10 hits in 8.1 innings. I like James to keep it going here, so I’ll take the Astros.

Houston Astros -175
