|Date & Time||Saturday June 29, 2019, 4:07 PM (EDT)|
Toronto Blue Jays -149 / Kansas City Royals +139 O/U: 9
The Kansas City Royals and the Toronto Blue Jays will meet up on the MLB circuit to continue their series Saturday.
In the Friday opener of this series, Toronto managed a 6-2 win, scoring all their runs in a late-game three-inning span.
For Saturday’s game, the Royals will be sending out Homer Bailey in the start. Across his 80.0 innings and 7-6 mark so far, Bailey has a 4.61 ERA with 72 Ks and 32 BBs.
KC put up nine hits on Friday. Alex Gordon had a good night with three hits and an RBI, and Martin Maldonado had three hits with a solo homer.
Over on the Blue Jays’ side, they’re going with Marcus Stroman in the start Saturday. Over 100.2 innings and a 3.04 ERA this year, Stroman has a 5-9 record, 77 Ks and 30 BBs.
The Jays logged nine hits on Friday as well. Both Eric Sogard and Lourdes Gurriel put up a pair of hits and four combined RBI with three runs.
KC is 2-12 in their last 14 in game two of a series and 0-8 in their last eight Saturday games. The under is 3-0-1 in the Royals’ last four Saturday games and the over is 3-0-1 in their last four in game two of a series.
Meanwhile, the Jays are 5-12 in their last 17 in game two of a series and 1-7 in their last eight Saturday games. Toronto is 6-13 in Stroman’s last 19 starts and 2-5 in his last seven Saturday starts.
Bailey has been on a nice run lately. Across his last four starts, he’s allowed just four earned in a span of 25.0 innings and is also 3-0 during that stretch.
As for Stroman, he’s done pretty well also, with four quality starts in his last five tries and just four earned surrendered over his last three outings. That said, Stroman is 2-3 since June began.
This is a nice matchup on the mound but KC just seems to support Bailey a little more than his counterpart here. I’m going Royals in a close game.
