The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Washington Nationals will meet up on the MLB circuit to continue their series Saturday.
In the Thursday opener, the Diamondbacks won 5-0. On Friday, the Nats managed a 7-3 win to even it up.
For the Saturday game, the Diamondbacks will be bringing out Taylor Clarke in the start. over his 25.2 innings and 1-2 mark so far, Clarke has a 5.26 ERA with 19 Ks and nine walks.
Arizona’s top hitters in the Friday loss were Adam Jones and Carson Kelly. Each player had two hits, and Kelly also logged a solo homer.
Over on the Nationals side, they’re sending out Stephen Strasburg for the start on Saturday. Strasburg has a 7-3 record in 91.0 innings with a 3.36 ERA, 110 Ks and 23 BBs.
Washington put up eight hits in the win Friday. The only player with multiple knocks was Michael Taylor, who finished 2-for-4 with two runs.
The Diamondbacks are 4-0 in their last four in game three of a series and the over is 5-1 in the last six Saturday games. The under is 4-1 in Arizona’s last five in game three of a series and the over is 4-0 in Clarke’s last four road starts.
Meanwhile, the Nationals are 6-0 in their last six Saturday games and 5-2 in their last seven in game three of a series. Washington is 74-29 in Strasburg’s last 103 starts and 37-18 in his last 55 home starts.
Clarke has been a little sketchy lately. He had a good outing versus the Dodgers, but in the other two of his last three, he’s got nine earned in 5.1 innings on 10 hits.
As for Strasburg, He’s been pretty reliable lately, with a 4-0 record in his last five starts and just one in that span with more than two earned.
With the way Strasburg is rolling, I have to go Nats here.
