Colorado Rockies at Washington Nationals
|Date & Time||Monday July 22, 2019, 7:05 PM (EDT)|
Washington Nationals -126 / Colorado Rockies +115 O/U: 10
The Colorado Rockies and the Washington Nationals will match up on the MLB diamond Monday to kick off their series.
The Rockies are coming out of a series versus the Yankees. Colorado fell 8-2 on Friday and 11-5 on Saturday there. In the Sunday finale, the Rockies avoided the sweep with an 8-4 win.
For Monday’s game, the Rockies are sending out Peter Lambert in the start. Over his 35.2 innings and 2-1 mark so far, Lambert has a 6.06 ERA with 23 Ks and seven walks.
Over on the Nationals’ side, they’re coming off a set against the Braves. Washington lost the Friday game in that one but won Thursday 13-4 and Saturday 5-3. On Sunday, the Nationals fell 7-1.
For the Monday game, Washington will go with Erick Fedde in the start. Fedde is 1-1 this year with a 3.50 ERA and 24 Ks.
The Rockies are 3-13 in their last 16 overall and 1-5 in their last six road games. Colorado is 1-6 in their last seven versus the NL East and 1-5 in their last six in game one of a series.
Meanwhile, the Nationals are 8-1 in their last nine in game one of a series and 1-6 in their last seven Monday games. The under is 7-2-1 in their last 10 in game one of a series and the over is 4-0-1 in their last five home games after a road trip of a week or more.
Lambert doesn’t have a huge body of work this season, but the numbers we do have are pretty up and down. He had a stretch of 20 earned runs in a span of five starts from June 16 to July 3, but the good news is that Lambert had a quality outing in a no-decision his last time up; two earned in 6.0 innings on six hits against the Giants.
Colorado looked better in the Sunday game, but on the whole they’re just not playing great baseball right now. I’m sticking with the Nats here.
