Friday MLB action brings us to DC where the Washington Nationals host the San Francisco Giants.

The San Francisco Giants have been playing their best baseball with wins in six of seven after a 5-4, ten inning decision versus Arizona on Wednesday. Chris Stratton gave an Francisco four frames with three runs allowed with three relievers ending the game with four scoreless innings.

The Giants pounded out eleven hits and walked twice with Alen Hanson clubbing a pinch hit two run homer while Pablo Sandoval cracked a solo bomb The Giants give Friday’s starting assignment to rookie Andrew Suarez who faces Washington for the first time. Suarez comes in off of a 2-0 victory against Philadelphia with seven scoreless frames.

The Washington Nationals have won three of four following an 11-2 rout of Tampa Bay to end their series Wednesday. Washington starter Tanner Roark picked up the win with both runs allowed over six frames while three relievers put up zeros.

The Nationals racked up 15 hits and walked four times with Anthony Rendon going 4-5 with three runs driven in and four scored while Michael Taylor went 3-5 with three RBI’s and two runs followed by Roark with a to run single.

The Nationals hand the ball to Stephen Strasburg for Friday’s start versus San Francisco. Strasburg fell to Atlanta 4-0 in his last outing with all four runs given up in 6.2 innings.

San Francisco are 6-1 in their last 7 overall and  are 20-43 in their last 63 road games and  are 1-4 in Suarez’s last 5 starts. Under is 18-6 in Washington last 24 overall and under is 18-6 in Washington last 24 on grass and Washington are 24-9 in their last 33 overall. Under is 20-5-2 in the last 27 meetings and San Francisco are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings in Washington.

The problem with backing the Nationals at home is the team is always a bit overpriced which means most think they are a sure thing. Washington loses too many games like this but hopefully not this one…
