Cleveland Indians (4-7) at Chicago White Sox (4-7)
|Date & Time||Tuesday April 21, 2015, 8:10 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Chicago White Sox +109 / Cleveland Indians -119 --- Over/Under: 8.5
The Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox play game two of their three-game series Tuesday night.
The Cleveland Indians need a win after losing five of their last seven games. The Indians pitching staff has allowed 11 runs in their last two games and four or more in six of their last nine games. The Indians have lost six straight games when allowing more than three runs. Offensively, Jason Kipnis leads Cleveland with 11 hits while Carlos Santana and Lonnie Chisenhall have combined for 11 RBI. The Cleveland Indians really need to get rolling, as they currently find themselves dead last in the AL Central. Carlos Carrasco takes the hill, and he’s 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA and 10 strikeouts this season. Carrasco is 2-5 with a 5.37 ERA and 45 strikeouts in his career against the White Sox.
The Chicago White Sox look for a win after splitting their last six games. The White Sox offense has produced 17 runs in their last three games and four or more in five of their last eight games. The White Sox have won eight of their last 10 games when scoring at least four runs. Melky Cabrera leads Chicago with 13 hits while Adam LaRoche and Alexei Ramirez have combined for 16 RBI. Three of the Chicago White Sox five victories have come on their home field. Hector Noesi gets the ball, and he’s 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA and six strikeouts this season. Noesi is 1-1 with a 4.23 ERA and 20 strikeouts in his career against the Indians.
The Indians are 21-10 in their last 31 during game 2 of a series and 9-20 in Carrascos last 29 starts. The White Sox are 6-16 in their last 22 during game 2 of a series and 0-4 in Noesis last 4 starts. The Indians are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings in Chicago and 25-10 in the last 35 meetings overall.
The Indians have been tough to back as of late. Meanwhile, the White Sox are starting to find themselves offensively and have played their best ball as of late at home. I'll gladly take the Sox here for the plus money.
