The New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks meet Thursday in NBA action at the State Farm Arena.

The New York Knicks are still looking for their first victory since January 4. The New York Knicks are averaging 105.2 points on 43 percent shooting and allowing 114.2 points on 47.1 percent shooting. Dennis Smith Jr. is averaging 17.4 points and six assists while Emmanuel Mudiay is averaging 14.7 points and 3.9 rebounds. Kevin Knox is the third double-digit scorer and DeAndre Jordan is grabbing 11.8 rebounds. The New York Knicks are shooting 33.6 percent from beyond the arc and 76.2 percent from the free throw line. The New York Knicks are allowing 36 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.2 rebounds per game. The New York Knicks have won two road games since November 28.

The Atlanta Hawks could use a victory after losing five of their last eight games. The Atlanta Hawks are averaging 111 points on 45.4 percent shooting and allowing 118.4 points on 47.6 percent shooting. John Collins is averaging 19.4 points and 9.7 rebounds while Trae Young is averaging 16.9 points and 7.6 assists. Kent Bazemore is the third double-digit scorer and Dewayne Dedmon is grabbing 7.1 rebounds. The Atlanta Hawks are shooting 34.7 percent from beyond the arc and 74.8 percent from the free throw line. The Atlanta Hawks are allowing 36.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45 rebounds per game. The Atlanta Hawks have lost five of their last six home games.

The Knicks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Hawks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games, 3-10 ATS in their last 13 vs. NBA Atlantic and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. Eastern Conference. The  Knicks are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Atlanta and the underdog is 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings. The over is 7-3 in Hawks last 10 overall. The under is 9-2 in Knicks last 11 overall.

I'm done trying to find value in the New York Knicks, as this team gets waxed most nights and it's expected to be no different with them being on the end of a back-to-back. With that said, I'm not laying chalk with the freaking Atlanta Hawks. Instead, I'll side with the over. The Hawks are allowing nearly 123 points in their last five games and don't play much defense at home. The over is also a really strong trend when the Knicks and Hawks meet, including going over the total in 13 of the last 19 meetings. I'm not playing a side in a game between two rough teams that don't have any motivation to win at this stage of the season.
