The Philadelphia 76ers and the Atlanta Hawks do battle at the Philps Arena on Tuesday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been on a tear lately as they will be aiming for a 15th straight win after blowing past the Mavericks in a 109-97 win on Sunday. JJ Redick led the team with 18 points, Ben Simmons racked up 16 points with seven rebounds, nine assists and four steals while Robert Covington and Marco Belinelli each scored 15 points. As a team, the 76ers shot 50 percent from the field and eight of 27 from the three-point line as they made light work of the shorthanded Mavericks after taking a 13-point lead going into halftime. With the easy win, Philadelphia improved to 50-30 overall which is currently good for third place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have lost seven of their past 10 games but they will be aiming for a third straight win after playing spoiler against the Celtics in a 112-106 road win on Sunday. Taurean Prince drained a career-high seven 3-pointers en route to 33 points, Damion Lee added 14 points while Isaiah Taylor chipped in with 13 points and six assists off the bench. As a team, the Hawks shot 50 percent from the field and 15 of 35 from the three-point line as they fell behind by 11 points midway through the third quarter before outscoring the Celtics by 36-24 in the fourth quarter to come away with the unlikely victory. With the win, Atlanta improved to 24-57 overall and 8-33 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the 76ers are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games, 8-0 ATS in their last eight games following a win of more than 10 points and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games overall. Meanwhile, the Hawks are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games, 5-1 ATS in their last six home games against a team with a winning road record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the favorite is 14-3 ATS in the last 17 meetings and the 76ers are 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings.
The Hawks have enjoyed playing the role of spoiler lately as they’ve now won two in a row over playoff-bound opponents. However, the 76ers have been playing some of their best basketball of the season as they’ve reeled off 14 straight and they’re also 4-0 ATS in their last four road games. The Hawks are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings but I’m sticking with the 76ers who have already beaten the Hawks by 10 points twice this season.
