The Minnesota Timberwolves and Boston Celtics meet Wednesday in NBA action at the TD Garden.

The Minnesota Timberwolves look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last eight games. The Minnesota Timberwolves are averaging 111.5 points on 44.9 percent shooting and allowing 111.6 points on 45.7 percent shooting. Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 21.7 points and 12.1 rebounds while Derrick Rose is averaging 18.9 points and 4.8 assists. Andrew Wiggins is the third double-digit scorer and Robert Covington is grabbing 5.7 rebounds. The Minnesota Timberwolves are shooting 35.8 percent from beyond the arc and 79.3 percent from the free throw line. The Minnesota Timberwolves are allowing 37.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.3 rebounds per game. The Minnesota Timberwolves have lost six of their last nine road games.

The Boston Celtics could also use a win here after losing five of their last eight games. The Boston Celtics are averaging 111.6 points on 45.4 percent shooting and allowing 106 points on 44.4 percent shooting. Kyrie Irving is averaging 23.1 points and 6.6 assists while Jayson Tatum is averaging 16.2 points and 6.6 rebounds. Marcus Morris is the third double-digit scorer and Al Horford is grabbing 6.3 rebounds. The Boston Celtics are shooting 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 79.7 percent from the free throw line. The Boston Celtics are allowing 33.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45.4 rebounds per game. The Boston Celtics have won six of their last eight home games.

The Timberwolves are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. Eastern Conference and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games playing on 1 days rest. The Celtics are 25-8 ATS in their last 33 home games, 4-9 ATS in their last 13 vs. Western Conference and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Timberwolves are 0-6 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Boston and 0-5 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The over is 20-7 in Celtics last 27 overall. The over is 8-0 in Timberwolves last 8 overall.

I'm going to assume that Kyrie is going to play in this game, and if that's the case, I'm backing the Celtics. I have little to no confidence in the Minnesota Timberwolves, especially on the road where they're allowing nearly 47 percent shooting and are being otuscored by 5.5 points. The Timberwolves take defense off most nights and are 6-8 ATS when an underdog of at least six points. The Boston Celtics are 12-7 ATS when a favorite of seven or less points. Yes, the Celtics have issues of their own and are inconsistent, but this is more of a fade from the Timberwolves than anything else.

Pick:
Boston Celtics -6
