The Chicago Bulls pay a visit to the Barclays Center to battle the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.

The Chicago Bulls have been one of the coldest teams in the league as they’ve lost 16 of their last 18 games and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling short against the Pelicans in a 125-120 home loss on Wednesday. Lauri Markkanen led the team in scoring with 30 points and 10 rebounds, Zach LaVine added 28 points with seven assists while Kris Dunn chipped in with 18 points and eight assists. As a team, the Bulls shot 49 percent from the field and 16 of 36 from the 3-point line as they hung with the Pelicans from start to finish. Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis were both traded to the Wizards for Otto Porter Jr. With the loss, Chicago fell to 12-42 overall and 5-21 at home.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have been in a bit of a slump as they’ve lost four of their last six games, but they will be feeling pretty good after snapping a three-game skid with a 135-130 home win over the Nuggets on Wednesday. D’Angelo Russell led the team with 27 points and 11 assists, DeMarre Carroll added 18 points with 10 rebounds and six assists while Joe Harris chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Nets shot 51 percent from the field and a sizzling 19 of 34 from the 3-point line as they outscored the Nuggets by 78-52 in the second and third quarters to lead by as many as 21 points before the Nuggets poured 43 points in the fourth quarter to keep the final scores respectable. With the impressive win, Brooklyn improved to 29-27 overall and 17-12 at home.

Looking at the betting trends, the Bulls are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games overall. The Nets are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 home games, 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games against a team with a losing record and 21-10 ATS in their last 31 games overall.

Head to head, the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings, the under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings and the Bulls are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings.

The Bulls have been in a world of hurt as they just can’t buy a win these days, but there were certainly some signs of life in their narrow loss to the Pelicans on Wednesday as Makkanen and LaVine combined for 58 points. The Nets haven’t been at their best either as they’ve lost four of six, but they dominated the Nuggets and drained a total of 19 3-pointers as a team in the much-needed win. The Nets are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings and I think that trend continues as they win this one by double-digits.
