NBA | Detroit Pistons (4-2) at Brooklyn Nets (2-5)
Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Pistons and Brooklyn Nets meet Wednesday in NBA action at the Barclays Center.

The Detroit Pistons look for their second road win of the season to build on their 4-2 start to the season. The Detroit Pistons are averaging 110.6 points on 43.8 percent shooting and allowing 112 points on 48.2 percent shooting. Blake Griffin is averaging 28.4 points and 10 rebounds while Andre Drummond is averaging 18.4 points and 15.8 rebounds. Reggie Jackson is the third double-digit scorer and Ish Smith is dishing 3.4 assists. The Detroit Pistons are shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 73.6 percent from the free throw line. The Detroit Pistons are allowing 32.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 47.2 rebounds per game. The Detroit Pistons have won five of their last eight road games.

The Brooklyn Nets could use a feel good victory here that would snap a three-game losing streak. The Brooklyn Nets are averaging 106.6 points on 45.9 percent shooting and allowing 111.1 points on 45.6 percent shooting. Caris LeVert is averaging 18.9 points and 4.6 assists while D'Angelo Russell is averaging 16.4 points and 5.4 assists. Spencer Dinwiddie is the third double-digit scorer and Joe Harris is dishing 2.6 assists. The Brooklyn Nets are shooting 39.1 percent from beyond the arc and 73.3 percent from the free throw line. The Brooklyn Nets are allowing 36.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 43 rebounds per game. The Brooklyn Nets have split their first two home games this season.

The Pistons are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 0 days rest and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Nets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Central, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 home games. The Pistons are 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Brooklyn, 4-12 ATS in the last 16 meetings and the road team is 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

I know the Detroit Pistons are on the end of a back to back, but we're getting the better team here and a free bucket. The Brooklyn Nets have been better than we expected defensively up to this point and usually play decent basketball at home, but they're not a team that should be laying chalk often, especially against possible playoff teams. The Pistons have a decent roster and a solid coach leading the way, and they just took the Boston Celtics down to the wire last night. This line is strange, but I rarely turn down free points with the better team in any sport. Not doing it here.

Pick:
Detroit Pistons +2.5
