The Sacramento Kings and Charlotte Hornets meet Thursday in NBA action at the Spectrum Center.

The Sacramento Kings look for another win after winning four of their last five games. The Sacramento Kings are averaging 114.7 points on 47 percent shooting and allowing 115.4 points on 46.8 percent shooting. Buddy Hield is averaging 20.1 points and 4.9 rebounds while De'Aaron Fox is averaging 17.9 points and 7.3 assists. Bogdan Bogdanovic is the third double-digit scorer and Willie Cauley-Stein is grabbing 8.9 rebounds. The Sacramento Kings are shooting 38.9 percent from beyond the arc and 70.8 percent from the free throw line. The Sacramento Kings are allowing 34.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.8 rebounds per game. The Sacramento Kings have lost their last four road games.

The Charlotte Hornets could use a feel good win after losing five of their last seven games. The Charlotte Hornets are averaging 112 points on 45.2 percent shooting and allowing 111.8 points on 46.5 percent shooting. Kemba Walker is averaging 25.2 points and 5.7 assists while Jeremy Lamb is averaging 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds. Malik Monk is the third double-digit scorer and Marvin Williams is grabbing 5.7 rebounds. The Charlotte Hornets are shooting 35.8 percent from beyond the arc and 78.9 percent from the free throw line. The Charlotte Hornets are allowing 34.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.6 rebounds per game. The Charlotte Hornets have won four of their last five home games.

The Kings are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games, 23-6 ATS in their last 29 vs. Eastern Conference and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Hornets are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 vs. Western Conference and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Kings are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Charlotte. The under is 4-1 in Hornets last 5 home games. The under is 5-0 in Kings last 5 overall.

The Sacramento Kings are the better team here and we've made money on them all year in the underdog role. We've also been fading the Charlotte Hornets for a few years now. However, the Kings are still a very young basketball team that struggles on the road, as the defense drops off and they're losing by an average of 1.2 points. The Charlotte Hornets are falling off a cliff in the standings, but you can give them some benefit of the doubt when you consider nine of their last 12 games have been on the road. Playing at home for the first time since January 2 should only help the Hornets. While free points and the better team is usually my go to, the Hornets and the small chalk feels like the play here, especially with the Kings issues on the road.
