The Line: Chicago Bulls +7.5 -- Over/Under: 226.5
The Denver Nuggets and Chicago Bulls meet Wednesday in NBA action at the United Center.
The Denver Nuggets look for their second road win of the season to build on their 5-1 record. The Denver Nuggets are averaging 113.7 points on 46.1 percent shooting and allowing 105.2 points on 46.4 percent shooting. Nikola Jokic is averaging 21.5 points and 10.3 rebounds while Gary Harris is averaging 20 points and 3.8 assists. Jamal Murray is the third double-digit scorer and Will Barton is dishing three assists. The Denver Nuggets are shooting 29.7 percent from beyond the arc and 76.6 percent from the free throw line. The Denver Nuggets are allowing 33.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 48.5 rebounds per game. The Denver Nuggets have split their last 10 road games.
The Chicago Bulls look for a statement home win to rebound from a rough 2-5 start to the season. The Chicago Bulls are averaging 110.3 points on 46.9 percent shooting and allowing 119.9 points on 45.7 percent shooting. Zach LaVine is averaging 28.1 points and 3.1 assists while Jabari Parker is averaging 15.9 points and six rebounds. Justin Holiday is the third double-digit scorer and Cameron Payne is dishing 3.6 assists. The Chicago Bulls are shooting 38.1 percent from beyond the arc and 73.5 percent from the free throw line. The Chicago Bulls are allowing 38.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41.1 rebounds per game. The Chicago Bulls have lost two of their first three home games.
The Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. NBA Central. The Bulls are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Chicago, 20-8-1 ATS in the last 29 meetings and the underdog is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings.
Right when the Chicago Bulls looked like a team that was putting together decent basketball and showing some sort of fight, they play not a lick of defense against the Warriors and become one of the worst defenses in the league in every major stat. The Denver Nuggets are currently one of the more balanced teams in the league and have covered four of their first six games. I simply can't trust the Bulls against quality teams, especially after what I saw Monday night against Golden State. The Nuggets should be able to cruise in this contest.
