The Detroit Pistons pay a visit to the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Wednesday night.
The Detroit Pistons have lost three of their last four games and they will be hoping to finish off their regular season on a high note after falling to the Raptors in a 108-98 home loss on Monday. Luke Kennard led the team with 20 points, Reggie Jackson added 16 points with nine assists while Ish Smith chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Pistons shot 44 percent from the field and nine of 30 from the three-point line as they kept up with the red-hot Raptors in the first half before getting outscored by 51-38 in the second half as their offense struggled for points. With the loss, Detroit dropped to 38-43 overall and 25-16 at home.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in a real slump as they’ve lost 10 of their past 13 games and they will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after falling to the Nets in a 114-105 road loss on Monday. Sean Kilpatrick led the team in scoring with 16 points off the bench, Cameron Payne added 15 points with six assists while Bobby Portis chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Bulls shot healthy figures of 48 percent from the field and 12 of 28 from the three-point line but they had no answer for the Nets’ Allen Crabbe who poured in a career-high 41 points on 12 of 15 shooting. With the loss, Chicago dropped to 27-54 overall and 10-31 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games, 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a double-digit loss at home and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall. Meanwhile, the Bulls are 2-7 ATS in their last nine games following a loss and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS loss.
Head to head, the home team is 7-0 ATS in the last seven meetings, the favorite is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings and the Pistons are 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings.
Both teams are just looking forward to getting some time off as there really isn’t much to play for at this stage of the season. The Pistons are probably the more talented team and they are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games overall and 10-4 ATS in the last 14 meetings against the Bulls. This is a game I’d rather steer clear of, but if I had to choose, I’d lean towards the Pistons who have already beaten the Bulls in two of three meetings this season.
