The Washington Wizards pay a visit to the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Wednesday night.
The Washington Wizards haven’t been at their best as they’ve lost four of their last seven games and they will be looking to bounce back after getting blown out by the Jazz in a 116-95 home loss on Monday. Jabari Parker led the team with 19 points off the bench, Bradley Beal added 15 points while Trevor Ariza chipped in with 12 points. As a team, the Wizards shot just 42 percent from the field and eight of 27 from the 3-point line as they could never find their footing in the game as the Jazz did a great job of limiting Beal to just 15 points after he tallied up back to back 40-point games. With the loss, Washington fell to 30-41 on the season which is good for 11th place in the Eastern Conference.
Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in a rut as they’ve lost seven of their last nine games, but they will be feeling much better after snapping a five-game skid with a dominant 116-101 road win at Phoenix on Monday. Robin Lopez led the team with 24 points on 11 of 14 shooting, Lauri Markkanen and Zach LaVine each scored 17 points while Kris Dunn chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Bulls shot 51 percent from the field and just four of 16 from the 3-point line as they held the Suns at bay after jumping out to and early 14-point lead in the first quarter. With the win, Chicago improved to 20-52 overall and 12-25 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Wizards are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a loss, 13-33 ATS in their last 46 road games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall. The Bulls are 8-21 ATS in their last 29 home games, 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points and 0-6 ATS in their last six games playing on one days rest.
Head to head, the road team is 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings, the Wizards are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Chicago.
The regular season series is tied at 1-1 with the Wizards winning the latest meeting by 134-125 back on Feb 9. The Wizards have been hit-and-miss since that meeting as they haven’t been able to build any sort of momentum and they will be hurting from their blowout loss to the Jazz. However, the Bulls haven’t been any better as they lost five in a row before taking down the lowly Suns on Monday. This is a close one, but the Wizards are 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Chicago and I think that trend continues as they get the win here.
