The Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers meet Saturday in NBA action at the Quicken Loans Arena.
The Dallas Mavericks could use a win after losing six of their last nine games. The Dallas Mavericks are averaging 109.3 points on 45.1 percent shooting and allowing 108.9 points on 45.6 percent shooting. Luka Doncic is averaging 20.4 points and 5.4 assists while Harrison Barnes is averaging 17.9 points and 4.2 rebounds. Dorian Finney-Smith is grabbing 4.5 rebounds and Dwight Powell is grabbing 4.1 rebounds. The Dallas Mavericks are shooting 34.5 percent from beyond the arc and 73.9 percent from the free throw line. The Dallas Mavericks are allowing 34.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45.9 rebounds per game. The Dallas Mavericks have lost five of their last seven road games.
The Cleveland Cavaliers look to win three straight games for the first time this season. The Cleveland Cavaliers are averaging 102.6 points on 44.4 percent shooting and allowing 113.3 points on 49.2 percent shooting. Jordan Clarkson is averaging 16.8 points and 2.3 assists while Collin Sexton is averaging 14.3 points and 2.8 assists. Rodney Hood is the third double-digit scorer and Tristan Thompson is grabbing 11.1 rebounds. The Cleveland Cavaliers are shooting 35.7 percent from beyond the arc and 78.6 percent from the free throw line. The Cleveland Cavaliers are allowing 37.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 42.2 rebounds per game. The Cleveland Cavaliers have lost nine of their last 10 home games.
The Mavericks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games, 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest and 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Cavaliers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games, 19-41-2 ATS in their last 62 vs. Western Conference and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games. The favorite is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings. The over is 10-3-1 in Cavaliers last 14 home games. The under is 7-1 in Mavericks last 8 overall.
I'm assuming Luka Doncic is good to go with a line like this. The Mavs obviously have their issues on the road, but nothing is as bad as what the Cleveland Cavaliers are going through. The Cavs barely put out an NBA roster most nights and are being outscored by an average of 7.2 points in their last five games. At home this season, the Cavaliers are losing by an average of 9.4 points. The Cleveland Cavaliers are also just 13-18 ATS this season when an underdog of at least eight points. Laying this much chalk with the Mavericks on the road isn't ideal, but I can't make a case to back the Cavaliers. So, it's Mavs or pass for me.
