The Indiana Pacers and the Cleveland Cavaliers meet in NBA preseason action from Quicken Loans Arena on Monday night.
The Indiana Pacers will look to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the preseason after a 109-104 overtime loss to Memphis last time out. Aaron Holiday led Indy with 20 points on 6 of 13 shooting with 4 triples while Domantas Sabonis added 17 points and 14 rebounds for the double-double. Tyreke Evans added 12 points to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for the Pacers in the loss, while Cory Joseph led the Pacers with 6 assists in the losing effort. As a team, Indiana is averaging 107 points per game on 40.6% shooting from the field, 29.1% from behind the arc and 80.7% from the foul line in the preseason.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will look for another win to add to their current 2-0 start following a 113-102 win over Boston in their last outing. Ante Zizic led the Cave with 20 points on 7 of 8 shooting with a 6 of 6 mark from the foul line while Collin Sexton added 13 points and Jordan Clarkson chipped in 12 points off of the bench. Larry Nance Jr. added 10 points to finish off the scoring in double figures for the Cavs in the win, while Cedi Osman had a team-high 4 assists and shared the team-high with 6 rebounds with the aforementioned Clarkson. As a team, Cleveland is averaging 107.5 points per game on 42.4% shooting from the field, 34.8% from behind the arc and 79.7% from the foul line this preseason.
Trends will be updated once they’ve been released.
I feel the Indiana is the better team here and will probably finish much better than the Cavs in the regular season, but you can’t argue with results as the Cavs have looked pretty good so far in the preseason. However, getting points at home with the Cavs after how they've looked in the first two games is too good to pass up so I'll take a shot with Cleveland and the points here.
