NBA | Toronto Raptors (55-21) at Cleveland Cavaliers (47-30)

The Toronto Raptors and the Cleveland Cavaliers duke it out at the Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday night.

The Toronto Raptors have been in great form as they’ve won 14 of their last 18 games but they will be looking to bounce back after falling to the shorthanded Celtics in a 110-99 road loss on Saturday. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 32 points and seven assists, Serge Ibaka added 15 points with 10 rebounds, Jonas Valanciunas added 13 points while Kyle Lowry chipped in with 11 points and nine assists. As a team, the Raptors shot 46 percent from the field and eight of 35 from the three-point line as they wrestled with the Celtics for most of the game until the final 5:05 where the Celtics closed the game on a 16-5 run to win the game despite missing Kyrie Irving who remains sidelined with injury. With the loss, Toronto fell to 55-21 overall which is still good for top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have also been in fine form as they’ve won eight of their past nine games and they will be gunning for a fourth straight win after taking down the Mavericks in a 98-87 home win on Sunday. LeBron James racked up a triple-double of 16 points with 13 rebounds and 12 assists, Jordan Clarkson chipped in with 16 points and three steals while Jr Smith chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Cavaliers shot just 41 percent from the field as they struggled for most of the game until the fourth quarter where they outscored the lowly Mavericks by 25-10 to make it look easy in the end. With the win, Cleveland improved to 47-30 overall which is still good for third place in the Eastern Conference.

Looking at the betting trends, the Raptors are 0-5 ATS in their last five games against  team with a winning record, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against the Eastern Conference and 0-8 ATS in their last eight games overall. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are 18-37-2 ATS in their last 57 home games, 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against a team above .600 and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Head to head, the home team is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings, the Raptors are 1-4-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall and 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings in Cleveland.

These two teams have met twice already this season with each team winning at home but the Cavaliers did take the most recent meeting, a 132-129 home win on Mar 21. The Cavaliers have been heating up lately with eight wins in their last nine games while the Raptors have lost four of their last seven. The home team is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings and the Raptors are just 2-7 ATS in their last nine meetings in Cleveland so I’m taking the Cavaliers to get the win and cover at home in what should be a close one.
