The Line: Dallas +1
The Sacramento and the Dallas Mavericks duke it out at the American Airlines Center in NBA action on Tuesday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their last eight games and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling just short against the struggling Lakers in a 111-106 road loss on Sunday. Marvin Bagley III led the team with 25 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, Bogdan Bogdanovic added 17 points with four assists while Buddy Hield chipped in with 18 points, but De’Aaron Fox struggled as he finished with just nine points on three of 16 shooting. As a team, the Kings shot 37 percent from the field and 14 of 33 from the 3-point line as they were right there with the Lakers till the end, but they let things get out of hand in the third quarter where the Lakers poured in 39 points. With the loss, Sacramento fell to 36-37 overall and 13-22 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in a serious slump as they’ve lost 15 of their last 18 games, but they will be feeling pretty good about themselves after making light work of the Warriors in a 126-91 road win on Saturday. Luka Doncic led the way with a triple-double of 23 points with 11 rebounds and 10 assists, Dirk Nowitzk provided the spark with five 3-pointers on his way to 21 points while Max Kleber chipped in with 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench. As a team, the Mavericks shot a healthy 53 percent from the field and 21 of 49 from the 3-point line as they cruised to victory in the second half after exploding for 74 points in the first half. With the impressive win, Dallas improved to 29-44 overall and 7-30 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Kings are 18-8 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a losing record, 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games against a team below .400 and 41-20 ATS in their last 61 games following a loss. The Mavericks are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five home games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a win and 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the under is 13-6 in the last 19 meetings, the Kings are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Dallas and the Kings are 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall.
You could’ve pencilled the Kings in for a road win here a few days ago, but you just don’t know what you’re going to get from the Mavericks who made it look easy against the Warriors on Saturday. The Kings will be aiming for the season sweep after beating the Mavericks by 116-100 back on Thursday and they are 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall. With that being said, I’m expecting this to be a close one, but in the end I have the Kings running away with the win and cover again.
