The San Antonio Spurs head to Dallas on Monday for a game against the Mavericks in a game between two teams in the Southwest Division.  San Antonio was defeated in their last game by the Portland Trail Blazers by the score of 121-116.  Lamarcus Aldridge led the Spurs in points on the night, scoring 30 points while shooting 12 of 20 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free throw line.  Aldridge also led the Spurs in rebounds on the night with 13, including 1 on the offensive boards.  DeMar DeRozan led the Spurs in assists with 5 while playing 37 minutes in the game against Portland.

San Antonio is now 5-8 on the season and are currently in 4th place in the Southwest Division.  DeMar DeRozan leads the Spurs in points per game with 19.8. DeRozan is also leading San Antonio in assists per game as he is averaging 4.8.  Trey Lyles has been the Spurs most productive rebounder and has averaged 7.9 per game this season.  The Spurs come into Monday’s game with a clean bill of health as they do not have any players listed on their injury report.

The Dallas Mavericks welcome the San Antonio Spurs to town after winning their last game 110-102 against the Toronto Raptors.  Last year’s Rookie of the Year award winner Luka Doncic led Dallas in points with 26 while shooting 5 of 14 from the field and 15 of 19 from the free throw line.  Doncic also led the Mavericks in assists on the night, recording 7 with the 36 minutes that he played in the game.  Doncic also led Dallas in rebounds on the night as he pulled in 12 boards, including 3 offensively.

The Mavericks are now 7-5 on the season which currently puts them in 2nd place in the Southwest Division.  Luka Doncic has been a force for the Mavericks all season and currently leads Dallas in points per game with 28.5, assists per game with 9.1, field goal percentage at 47.2 and rebounds per game with 10.7.  The Dallas Mavericks enter Monday’s game with a clean bill of health as they do not have anyone listed on their injury report.

San Antonio has scored 112.4 points per game this season while allowing 114.5 points per game.  Dallas has scored 113.8 points per game and have allowed 110.9 points per game.  In the last 5, the Spurs are 0-5 while the Mavericks are 2-3.  It’s certainly unusual to see San Antonio struggling in a season and unfortunately, I don’t see their luck changing against the Mavericks.  Dallas has better offensive and defensive numbers on the season and are playing at home so I will be going with them in this game.  Dallas wins 115-110 and covers the spread.
