The Los Angeles Clippers pay a visit to the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center on Thursday night.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been in great form lately as they’ve won seven of their last 10 games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after beating the Hornets by 128-109 on Tuesday. Lou Williams led the team with 27 points and 10 assists in just 25 minutes off the bench, Montrezl Harrell and Tobias Harris each scored 23 points while Danilo Gallinari chipped in with 20 points and four assists. As a team, the Clippers shot 51 percent from the field and 14 of 30 from the 3-point line as they took a five-point lead going into halftime before running away with it in the fourth quarter where they poured in 42 points. With the win, Los Angeles improved to 24-16 overall and 14-6 at home.
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets haven’t been blowing teams away but they’re certainly climbing up the standings with six wins in their last seven games and they will be looking to stay hot after beating the Heat in a 103-99 road win on Tuesday. Nikola Jokic led the way with a triple-double of 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, Jamal Murray added 18 points with six assists while Trey Lyles chipped in with 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Nuggets shot 47 percent from the field and nine of 27 from the 3-point line but the difference was the extra effort plays which resulted in 23 second-chance points which was crucial in a game that was tied in the final two minutes. With the win, Denver improved to 27-12 overall and 11-9 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games, 7-2 ATS in their last nine games against a team above .600 and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Nuggets are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games, 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games following a win.
Head to head, the home team is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings, the under is 36-17 in the last 53 meetings and the Clippers are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Denver.
The Clippers have been running hot lately and they must be feeling good because it’s been a real team effort, but they’re coming up against a red-hot Nuggets team who have won 16 of 19 home games this season. It’s hard to split these two teams as the Clippers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the Nuggets are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games, but in these situations I tend to favor the home team so I’m sticking with the Nuggets to get the win and cover here.
