The Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks meet Wednesday in game two of the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs at the Fiserv Forum.
The Detroit Pistons look for a massive upset to tie the series up at 1-1 before heading back home. The Detroit Pistons are averaging 86 points on 38 percent shooting and allowing 121 points on 48.9 percent shooting. Reggie Jackson is averaging 12 points and five assists while Andre Drummond is averaging 12 points and 12 rebounds. Ish Smith is dishing six assists and Wayne Ellington is grabbing four rebounds. The Detroit Pistons are shooting 29.6 percent from beyond the arc and 61.5 percent from the free throw line. The Detroit Pistons are allowing 34.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46 rebounds per game. The Detroit Pistons have lost seven of their last nine road games.
The Milwaukee Bucks can take a comfortable 2-0 series and inch that much closer to the conference semifinals. The Milwaukee Bucks are averaging 121 points on 48.9 percent shooting and allowing 86 points on 38 percent shooting. Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 24 points and 17 rebounds while Khris Middleton is averaging 14 points and four assists. Eric Bledsoe is the third double-digit scorer and Brook Lopez is grabbing three rebounds. The Milwaukee Bucks are shooting 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 69.2 percent from the free throw line. The Milwaukee Bucks are allowing 29.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 54 rebounds per game. The Milwaukee Bucks have won seven of their last nine home games.
The Pistons are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest, 2-7 ATS in their last 9 Conference Quarterfinals games and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Bucks are 6-2-2 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 2 days rest, 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 33-16-3 ATS in their last 52 vs. Eastern Conference. The Pistons are 0-3-1 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Milwaukee and 0-4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The over is 6-2 in Bucks last 8 overall. The under is 4-0 in Pistons last 4 overall.
The Milwaukee Bucks blew the doors off the Detroit Pistons in game one and there's little reason to think this one will be any different. The Pistons have zero chance to even compete in this series without their best player in Blake Griffin. I was blindsided by his absence in the first game, giving my pick out way before it was announced he wouldn't play. He's now been ruled out for the remainder of the series due to a knee injury. Without Griffin, the Pistons don't have enough scoring to hang around and don't have another body they can throw at Antetokounmpo with at least the hope of slowing him down. The Bucks are going to get whatever they want offensively, and they're 14-7 ATS as a double-digit favorite this season. This will be another ugly, ugly game that's really not even worth watching.
