The Denver Nuggets and the Detroit Pistons duke it out at Little Caesars Arena on Monday night.

The Denver Nuggets have been in great form as they’ve won eight of their last nine games and they will be aiming for a seventh straight victory after sneaking past the Timberwolves in a 107-106 road win on Saturday. Malik Beasley led the team with 22 points on nine of 14 shooting, Will Barton added 20 points while Nikola Jokic racked up a triple-double of 13 points with 16 rebounds and 10 assists. As a team, the Nuggets shot 47 percent from the field and 13 of 33 from the 3-point line as they held off the Timberwolves despite missing two key starters in Jamal Murray and Gary Harris. With the win, Denver improved to 37-15 overall and 14-11 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in a bit of a slump as they’ve lost six of their last eight games and they will be looking to bounce back after falling to the Clippers in a 111-101 home loss on Saturday. Reggie Jackson led the team with 29 points and seven assists, Blake Griffin added 24 points with 11 rebounds and six assists while Reggie Bullock chipped in with 19 points on five of six shooting. As a team, the Pistons shot 42 percent from the field and 17 of 42 from the 3-point line as they led by as many as 25 points before the Clippers ran them down in the fourth quarter where they were outscored by 35-14. With the loss, Detroit fell to 22-29 overall and 14-13 at home.

Looking at the betting trends, the Nuggets are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 5-0 ATS in their last five against the Eastern Conference. The Pistons are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a double-digit loss at home, 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record and 0-4 ATS in their last four home games.

Head to head, the under is 7-1 in the last eight meetings, the road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings and the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.

The Pistons have been in a funk lately and they will be kicking themselves after blowing a 25-point lead against the Clippers on Saturday, but they’re up against a red-hot Nuggets team gunning for that top seed in the Western Conference. The Nuggets aren’t the best road team but the Pistons are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record and I think that trend continues here as the Nuggets stay hot with a win and cover in this one.
