The Los Angeles Lakers and Detroit Pistons meet Friday in NBA action at the Little Caesars Arena.
The Los Angeles Lakers look for a win after losing 10 of their last 13 games. The Los Angeles Lakers are averaging 112.2 points on 47.5 percent shooting and allowing 113.9 points on 45.3 percent shooting. LeBron James is averaging 27.3 points and eight assists while Kyle Kuzma is averaging 18.9 points and 5.6 rebounds. Brandon Ingram is the third double-digit scorer and Reggie Bullock is grabbing 2.8 rebounds. The Los Angeles Lakers are shooting 33.4 percent from beyond the arc and 69.1 percent from the free throw line. The Los Angeles Lakers are allowing 34.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.2 rebounds per game. The Los Angeles Lakers have lost six of their last seven road games.
The Detroit Pistons look for a win after winning eight of their last 11 games. The Detroit Pistons are averaging 107.2 points on 44.1 percent shooting and allowing 107.8 points on 46.9 percent shooting. Blake Griffin is averaging 24.9 points and 7.7 rebounds while Andre Drummond is averaging 17.3 points and 15.2 rebounds. The Detroit Pistons are allowing 34.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45.2 rebounds per game. The Detroit Pistons have won their last seven home games.
The Lakers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Friday games, 6-20-1 ATS in their last 27 vs. Eastern Conference and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Pistons are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 home games, 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 Friday games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Lakers are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Detroit and 13-6 ATS in the last 19 meetings. The over is 10-4 in Pistons last 14 overall. The under is 12-3-3 in Lakers last 18 games playing on 0 days rest.
The Los Angeles Lakers continue to pile up the losses and not play with much effort defensively, as it's clear a lot of guys have checked out. The Lakers now are on the end of a back to back after playing in Toronto, possibly the worst end of a back to back you can have in this league. The Detroit Pistons have played their best ball by far at home where they've won seven straight and have covered all of those games as well. The Pistons also need this game to keep fighting for playoff position. I'm not 100 percent sold on the Pistons, but backing the Lakers these days is almost pointless with the lack of effort they bring nightly. If forced to pick, I'll lay the chalk with the Pistons, but this is a blah pick.
