The Line: Detroit Pistons PK -- Over/Under: 210
The Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons meet Thursday in NBA action at the Little Caesars Arena.
The Washington Wizards look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last 10 games. The Washington Wizards are averaging 107.1 points on 46.9 percent shooting and allowing 106 points on 46 percent shooting. Bradley Beal is averaging 22.9 points and 4.4 rebounds while Otto Porter Jr. is averaging 14.7 points and 6.5 rebounds. Kelly Oubre Jr. is the third double-digit scorer and Markieff Morris is grabbing 5.7 rebounds. The Washington Wizards are shooting 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and 77.3 percent from the free throw line. The Washington Wizards are allowing 34.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 43.1 rebounds per game. The Washington Wizards have won six of their last eight road games.
The Detroit Pistons also need a victory here after splitting their last 10 games. The Detroit Pistons are averaging 103.1 points on 44.7 percent shooting and allowing 103.8 points on 45.8 percent shooting. Blake Griffin is averaging 19.8 points and 6.6 rebounds while Andre Drummond is averaging 14.8 points and 15.9 rebounds. Ish Smith is the third double-digit scorer and Reggie Bullock is grabbing 2.4 rebounds. The Detroit Pistons are shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc and 74.6 percent from the free throw line. The Detroit Pistons are allowing 36.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 43.7 rebounds per game. The Detroit Pistons have won three straight home games.
The Wizards are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Thursday games, 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. Eastern Conference and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Pistons are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games, 8-20 ATS in their last 28 vs. Eastern Conference and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Wizards are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Detroit, 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and the over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
I'm still not sure John Wall is going to make his return here, but even if he doesn't, the Washington Wizards have won eight of the last 10 meetings against the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons have done a better job the last couple of weeks, but they're still pretty much dead as far as playoffs are concerned and the defense hasn't been good at home. The Washington Wizards are the better basketball team and are still fighting for seeding in the tight East. Without Wall or not, the Wizards should win this game.
