The Golden State Warriors play host to the Dallas Mavericks at the Oracle Arena on Saturday night.
The Dallas Mavericks won 13 of 17 games during an impressive stretch but have since cooled off with a four-game losing streak after falling to the Clippers in a 125-121 road loss on Thursday. Luka Doncic led the team with 32 points and five assists, JJ Barea added 19 points and eight assists off the bench, Harrison Barnes added 16 points while DeAndre Jordan chipped in with 11 points, 22 rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Mavericks shot 46 percent from the field and 10 of 28 from the 3-point line but they just had no answer for the Clippers who took control of the game with a decisive 15-2 run late in the fourth quarter. With the loss, Dallas fell to 15-15 on the season and 2-12 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in pretty good shape lately as they’ve won six of their past eight games but they will be hoping to bounce back after falling to the Jazz in a 108-103 road loss on Wednesday. Stephen Curry drained five 3-pointers to lead the team with 32 points, Kevin Durant added 30 points while Klay Thompson chipped in with 12 points on three of 12 shooting. As a team, the Warriors shot just 40 percent from the field and 10 of 31 from the 3-point line but their defense kept them in the contest until the fourth quarter where the Jazz pulled away with a barrage of threes. With the loss, Golden State fell to 21-11 on the season and 8-8 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games, 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against a team above .600 and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall. The Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 2-6 ATS in their last eight games following a loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings, the Mavericks are 21-44-1 ATS in the last 66 meetings overall and 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings in Golden State.
The Mavericks took the first meeting of the season, a 112-109 home win back on Nov 17. but the Warriors were without Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. The Warriors are coming off a tough loss to the Jazz but they're just about at full strength and they are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings in Golden State, so I'm going with Warriors to bounce back with a solid home win here.
