The Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors meet Friday in NBA action at the Oracle Arena.
The Denver Nuggets look for a statement win after splitting their last 12 games. The Denver Nuggets are averaging 112.1 points on 46.8 percent shooting and allowing 107 points on 45.8 percent shooting. Nikola Jokic is averaging 20.5 points and 10.8 rebounds while Jamal Murray is averaging 18.3 points and five assists. Gary Harris is the third double-digit scorer and Paul Millsap is grabbing 7.1 rebounds. The Denver Nuggets are shooting 35.5 percent from beyond the arc and 75.4 percent from the free throw line. The Denver Nuggets are allowing 34 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.9 rebounds per game. The Denver Nuggets have lost four of their last six road games.
The Golden State Warriors could also use a win after losing five of their last eight games. The Golden State Warriors are averaging 118.2 points on 48.8 percent shooting and allowing 112.4 points on 44.9 percent shooting. Stephen Curry is averaging 28.3 points and 5.2 assists while Kevin Durant is averaging 27.5 points and 6.8 rebounds. Klay Thompson is the third double-digit scorer and DeMarcus Cousins is grabbing 8.1 rebounds. The Golden State Warriors are shooting 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 80.8 percent from the free throw line. The Golden State Warriors are allowing 35.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.2 rebounds per game. The Golden State Warriors have won five of their last seven home games.
The Nuggets are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 road games, 9-4 ATS in their last 13 Friday games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Warriors are 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 home games, 8-22-1 ATS in their last 31 vs. Western Conference and 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Nuggets are 5-0-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Golden State and 3-1-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The under is 5-1 in Warriors last 6 overall. The under is 7-0 in Nuggets last 7 overall.
The Golden State Warriors aren't playing well enough right now to back with any sort of confidence, but you could chalk that up to them simply not being motivated or going through the motions of an 82-game season. The only thing that matters for the Warriors is June, so these sluggish performances can be expected. What we do know is that the Warriors can flick the switch when they feel like it, and this is one of those spots. The Warriors are fresh off getting waxed by the Boston Celtics, and now they're playing a Nuggets team that's coming for their top seed in the West. This just feels like a bad spot to be the Denver Nuggets. Not to mention Denver is just 13-18 ATS on the road and lost to the Warriors back in January by 31 points. That was the game the Warriors dropped 51 first quarter points. I'll eat the chalk with the Warriors, as this has comfortable win written all over it.
