The Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors meet Thursday in NBA action at the Oracle Arena.
The Houston Rockets look for another victory to build on their five-game winning streak. The Houston Rockets are averaging 109.9 points on 44.7 percent shooting and allowing 108.3 points on 47.1 percent shooting. James Harden is averaging 33.3 points and 8.4 assists while Clint Capela is averaging 17 points and 12.5 rebounds. Eric Gordon is the third double-digit scorer and Austin Rivers is grabbing three rebounds. The Houston Rockets are shooting 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 75.9 percent from the free throw line. The Houston Rockets are allowing 34 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 42.1 rebounds per game. The Houston Rockets have lost four of their last six road games.
The Golden State Warriors also look to stay hot after winning 10 of their last 14 games. The Golden State Warriors are averaging 115.8 points on 48.2 percent shooting and allowing 111.3 points on 45 percent shooting. Stephen Curry is averaging 28.7 points and 5.3 assists while Kevin Durant is averaging 28.5 points and 7.5 rebounds. The Golden State Warriors are shooting 38.1 percent from beyond the arc and 82.1 percent from the free throw line. The Golden State Warriors are allowing 33.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45.9 rebounds per game. The Golden State Warriors have won seven of their last 10 home games.
The Rockets are 7-0-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Western Conference, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games and 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Warriors are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games, 4-13 ATS in their last 17 vs. Western Conference and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The under is 5-2 in Warriors last 7 home games. The under is 5-1 in Rockets last 6 road games.
The Houston Rockets blew the doors off the Golden State Warriors earlier this season, but that was when they were healthier than they are now. Harden is playing out of his mind at the moment, but you have to question if he can continue to play like this and lead the Rockets to wins when playing stiffer teams. The Golden State Warriors continue to have games come down to the wire and are only outscoring teams by 1.6 points in their last five games. The Warriors often look like an unmotivated team that's either tired of one another or simply waiting for the playoffs to begin. Either way, this is a game where not having CP3 hurts, but I'm not laying big chalk with the Warriors based on how they've underperformed all year. I'll take the Rockets and the points.
