The Indiana Pacers and the Golden State Warriors duke it out at the Oracle Arena on Thursday night.
The Indiana Pacers have been in a bit of a slump as they’ve lost eight of their last 12 games and they will be hoping to put an end to a three-game losing streak after falling short against the Clippers in a 115-109 road loss on Tuesday. Tyreke Evans led the team with 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists off the bench, Bojan Bogdanovic added 19 points while Domantas Sabonis racked up 13 points with 16 rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Pacers shot a healthy 51 percent from the field and seven of 21 from the 3-point line as they fought hard to hang with the Clippers after trailing by double digits early, but the came down to the final possessions and it was the Pacers who let their chances slip as Bogdanovic lost his footing and fell on back to back crucial possessions. With the tough loss, Indiana fell to 44-28 overall and 17-19 on the road which is good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in decent shape by their standards as they’ve split their last 10 games and they will be looking to build some momentum after taking down the Timberwolves in a 117-107 road win on Tuesday. Stephen Curry drained eight 3-pointers to lead the team with 36 points and five assists, Klay Thompson added 28 points, Jonas Jerebko chipped in with 18 points while Kevin Durant finished with 17 points and nine assists. As a team, the Warriors shot 48 percent from the field and 19 of 42 from the 3-point line as they dominated the early proceedings to lead by 12 points at halftime, before putting the game out of reach in the third quarter. With the easy win, Golden State improved to 48-22 on the season and 24-12 on the road which is good for first place in the Western Conference standings.
Looking at the betting trends, the Pacers are 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games, 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against a team above .600 and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Warriors are 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 home games, 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games following a win and 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings, the favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings and the road team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings.
DeMarcus Cousins sat out Tuesday with an ankle injury, but is expected to play Thursday which is a great boost for a Warriors team who don’t need any help. The Pacers were the giant slayers at the start of the season, but they’ve been in a real funk lately and will do well just to keep pace with the Warriors. The Pacers are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games and they lost by 32 points the last time they played the Warriors, so I’m sticking with the Warriors to stay hot with a win and cover here.
