The Portland Trailblazers pay a visit to the Golden State Warriors at the Oracle Arena on Thursday night.
The Portland Trailblazers have been in decent form as they've won four of their last six games, but they will be looking to bounce back after getting hammered by the Jazz in a 117-96 road loss on Christmas Day. Damian Lillard led the team in scoring with 20 points on nine of 21 shooting, but he simply had no help as Evan Turner added 12 points while CJ McCollum and Al-Farouq Aminu each scored 11 points. As a team, the Trailblazers shot just 39 percent against the Jazz who shot over 55 percent and they just never threatend after falling behind by 12 points at halftime. With the loss, Portland fell to 19-15 overall and 6-10 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been in great form as they've won eight of their last 11 games but they too will be looking to bounce back after getting blown out on Christmas Day, falling to the Lakers in a 127-101 home loss. Andre Iguodala led the team with 23 points and four assists off the bench, Kevin Durant added 21 points while Stephen Curry finished with just 15 points on five of 17 shooting. As a team, the Warriors shot just 40 percent from the field and nine of 36 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from a 15-point halftime deficit only to get blown out in the fourth quarter. With the tough loss, Golden State dropped to 23-12 overall and 15-4 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Trailblazers are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning record, 1-8 ATS in their last nine road games and 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games overall. The Warriors are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record, 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the over is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings, the favorite is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings and the Trailblazers are 8-22 ATS in the last 30 meetings in Golden State.
The Warriors were one of the hottest teams in the league before they got routed by the Lakers on Christmas Day, so you know they'll be eager to get back on the court against the Trailblazers who they've already beaten by 125-97 back on Nov 23. The Trailblazers will also be looking for a bounce-back performance here, but they've been a poor road team all season and they are only 8-22 ATS in the last 30 meetings in Golden State. This seems like a lot of points to be giving up but the Warriors have won every game following a double-digit loss this season and I think that trend continues in this one as Curry leads the Warriors with a big game.
