The Line: Golden State -8.5 -- Over/Under 229
The Utah Jazz and the Golden State Warriors duke it out at the Oracle Arena on Tuesday night.
The Utah Jazz have been in great form for a while now as they’ve won 11 of their last 14 games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after blowing past the Spurs in a 125-105 home win on Saturday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 23 points and five assists, Rudy Gobert added 21 points with 13 rebounds and four assists while Rodney O’Neale chipped in with 17 points off the bench. As a team, the Jazz shot 52 percent from the field and 16 of 41 from the 3-point line as they cruised to victory after taking control of the game in the second quarter where they outscored the Spurs by 39-24. With the easy win, Utah improved to 32-24 overall and 18-10 at home.
Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have been the hottest team in the league as they’ve won 15 of their last 16 games and they will be aiming for a fifth straight victory after sneaking past the Heat in a 120-118 home win on Sunday. Kevin Durant led the way with 39 points on 16 of 24 shooting, Klay Thompson drained six 3-pointers en route to 29 points while Stephen Curry chipped in with 25 points. As a team, the Warriors shot 53 percent from the field and 13 of 36 from the 3-point line as they came out sluggishly and found themselves down by as many as 19 points in the first quarter before they rallied to escape with the win on the back of clutch free-throws from DeMarcus Cousins. With the win, Golden State improved to 40-15 overall and 21-7 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games following a win of more than 10 points, 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team above .600 and 5-0 ATS in their last five against the NBA Pacific. The Warriors are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a team with a winning record, 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings, the Jazz are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Golden State.
Two of the hottest teams in the league battle for a season series as the Jazz take on the Warriors for the third and final time this regular season. The Jazz have continued the rack up the wins behind the strong play of Mitchell and Gobert while the Warriors look re-energized ever since Cousins joined the starting lineup. It’s hard to split these two squads at the moment but the Jazz are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Golden State and they've been more than competitive in both meetings this season, so they represent decent value as heavy road underdogs here.
