The Line: Houston Rockets -7 -- Over/Under: 211.5
The Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets meet Friday in game six of the second round of the NBA playoffs at the Toyota Center.
The Golden State Warriors will advance to their fifth straight conference finals with a victory here. The Golden State Warriors are averaging 118.1 points on 48.6 percent shooting and allowing 112.2 points on 44.7 percent shooting. Kevin Durant is averaging 34.2 points and 5.2 rebounds while Stephen Curry is averaging 23.5 points and 5.2 assists. Klay Thompson is the third double-digit scorer and Draymond Green is grabbing 9.2 rebounds. The Golden State Warriors are shooting 36.7 percent from beyond the arc and 82.2 percent from the free throw line. The Golden State Warriors are allowing 35.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 43.5 rebounds per game. The Golden State Warriors have won 10 of their last 15 road games.
The Houston Rockets need a victory here in order to save their season and force a game seven on Sunday. The Houston Rockets are averaging 108.1 points on 44.1 percent shooting and allowing 104.1 points on 43.3 percent shooting. James Harden is averaging 31.3 points and 6.8 assists while Eric Gordon is averaging 18.7 points and one assist. Chris Paul is the third double-digit scorer and PJ Tucker is grabbing 7.8 rebounds. The Houston Rockets are shooting 36 percent from beyond the arc and 76.8 percent from the free throw line. The Houston Rockets are allowing 29.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 43.2 rebounds per game. The Houston Rockets have won each of their last 12 home games.
The Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Conference Semifinals games, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Rockets are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 home games, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Conference Semifinals games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Warriors are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Houston and 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings. The under is 19-8-2 in Rockets last 29 overall. The over is 4-1-1 in Warriors last 6 overall.
The Houston Rockets will win this game and force a game seven, as they've been money and both ATS and SU at home since the all-star break and play the Warriors better than anybody in the league. Add the fact Durant is probably done for the rest of the series, and the Rockets should get the job done here. However, let's not act like the Warriors are dead in the water, as this is now pretty much the same roster that set a league record for most regular season wins. The Warriors controlled the fourth quarter of game five without Durant and stole a victory, so there's no reason to think they can't keep this game competitive, even if it's on the road. I do favor the Rockets in this series given the lack of depth from the Warriors and the loss of Durant now leaving just two pure scorers against a Houston team that can get it going. This just feels like too many points to lay in a series that's been extremely tight.
