The Milwaukee Bucks pay a visit to the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center on Wednesday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 10 of their last 12 games and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Jazz in a 114-102 home win on Monday. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the team with 30 points and 10 rebounds, Malcolm Brogdon added 21 points with five assists while Brook Lopez and Thon Maker each scored 15 points. As a team, the Bucks shot 46 percent from the field and nine of 25 from the 3-point line as they battled with the Jazz for three tight quarters until they outscored the Jazz by 31-16 in the fourth quarter to run away with it. With the win, Milwaukee improved to 28-11 overall and 19-4 at home where they have won seven of their last eight.
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have been on a tear as they’ve won 12 of their last 14 games and they too will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Nuggets in a 125-113 home win on Monday. James Harden led the way with 32 points and 14 assists, Clint Capela added 31 points on 13 of 18 shooting while PJ Tucker and Gerald Green each scored 21 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 50 percent from the field and 22 of 47 from the 3-point line as they cruised to victory after taking control of the game with a 37-25 second quarter. Chris Paul sat out his eighth straight game with that left hamstring strain while Eric Gordon missed his fourth straight game with a bruised right knee. With the win, Houston improved to 23-16 overall and 14-5 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Bucks are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a win of more than 10 points and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Rockets are 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record, 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 home games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings and the underdog is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings.
The Rockets are currently the hottest team in the league right now as Harden has been on an absolute tear, but they’re running into the league-leading Bucks who are on another big run of their own with 10 wins in their last 12 games. You can’t really split the teams when you look at the betting trends as both teams are have been hot, but I just worry if the Rockets’ injuries will finally catch up to them in this one. You could make an argument for either team here, but I’m leaning towards the Bucks to get the win while the Rockets are still shorthanded.
