The Dallas Mavericks pay a visit to the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday night.
The Dallas Mavericks have been in a bit of a slump lately as they’ve lost five of their last seven games and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after falling just short against the Spurs in a 105-101 home loss on Wednesday. Luka Doncic led the team with 25 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Wesley Matthews added 13 points while Harrison Barnes chipped in with 11 points on just four of 18 shooting. As a team, the Mavericks shot 43 percent from the field and 15 of 42 from the 3-point line as they jumped out of the gates to lead by 15 points in the first quarter, but they just couldn’t keep it going in the second half where they were outscored by 60-45. With the loss, Dallas fell to 20-24 overall and 16-6 at home.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been in great form as they’ve won nine of their last 12 games but they will be looking to bounce back after getting blown out by the 76ers in a 120-96 home loss on Thursday. Thaddeus Young led the team with 27 points on 11 of 17 shooting but he was the only player who could find his shot as Victor Oladipo added just 15 points on six of 20 shooting. As a team, the Pacers shot just 40 percent from the field and nine of 29 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the 76ers in the first half before getting blown out in the second half by 66-48. With the loss, Indiana fell to 29-15 overall and 15-6 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games, 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games against a team above .600 and 7-2 ATS in their last nine against the Eastern Conference. The Pacers are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games following a loss of more than 10 points, 25-6 ATS in their last 31 games following a double-digit loss at home and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the home team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings, the Mavericks are 5-11 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall and 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in Indiana.
The Mavericks have enjoyed some nice patches of play this season with Doncic putting up some highlights but they’ve fallen off the pace lately while the Pacers were on a nice run before getting pummelled by the 76ers in their last outing. The Mavericks are also just 5-11 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall, so I’m banking on the Pacers to bounce back at home after getting embarrassed on Thursday.
