The Dallas Mavericks and the Indiana Pacers duke it out at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
The Dallas Mavericks have lost eight of their last 11 games but they will be feeling pretty good after last night’s 98-93 home win over the streaking Raptors. JJ Barea led the team with 20 points and four assists off the bench, Dirk Nowitzki added 18 points while Harrison Barnes chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot 42 percent from the field and just six of 24 from the three-point line but it was their defense that was the key to the win as they were the first team this season to hold the Raptors under 40 percent shooting. With the win, Dallas improved to 10-25 overall and 8-11 at home where they have won five of their last six.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have won three of their last five games but they will be hoping to bounce back after last night’s 107-83 loss at Detroit. Victor Oladipo led the team with 13 points while Myles Turner, Domantas Sabonis and Bogdan Bogdanovic each scored 10 points. No other Pacers player finished in double figures as they shot just 44 percent and six of 21 from the three-point line, but they were always fighting a losing battle after falling behind by 23 points before the end of the first quarter. With the loss, Indiana fell to 19-15 overall and 8-8 on the road.
Looking at the betting trends, the Mavericks are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six road games against a team with a winning home record. Meanwhile, the Pacers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games against a team with a losing road record and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games overall.
Head to head, the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings, the Mavericks are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings overall and 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Indiana.
The Mavericks haven’t been in the best of form but they will take plenty of confidence from last night’s win over the Raptors who were riding a six-game win streak. However, the Pacers got absolutely punished last night on the road so they will be itching to atone for that at home where they have won six of their last nine. I’m going with the Pacers who have been consistently good at home over the Mavericks who were really struggling before last night’s win.
