The Los Angeles Clippers pay a visit to the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday night.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been in decent shape as they’ve won six of their past 10 games and they will be looking to build on Tuesday’s 117-115 road win at Charlotte on Tuesday. Tobias Harris led the team with 34 points on 13 of 21 shooting, Lou Williams added 31 points and six assists off the bench while Montrezl Harrell chipped in with 16 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. As a team, the Clippers shot 48 percent from the field and a sizzling 18 of 24 from the 3-point line but they trailed the Hornets for most of the game until the fourth quarter where they outscored the Hornets by 33-23 to edge them out in a close contest. With the win, Los Angeles improved to 30-25 overall and 15-13 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been on a nice run lately as they’ve won nine of their last 15 games and they will be aiming for a fourth straight victory after blowing past the Lakers in a 136-94 home win on Tuesday. Bojan Bogdanovic led the team in scoring with 24 points and five assists, Myles Turner added 22 points while Domantas Sabonis, Aaron Holiday and Edmond Sumner each scored 17 points. As a team, the Pacers shot a healthy 56 percent from the field and 19 of 34 from the 3-point line as they cruised to victory after dominating the first half to take an unassailable 23-point lead going into halftime. With the win, Indiana improved to 35-19 overall and 19-7 at home.
Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team above .600 and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record. The Pacers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record, 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a win and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the road team is 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings, the under is 4-1 in the last four meetings in Indiana and the Clippers are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings overall.
The Clippers have been playing well lately and they will be feeling good after their narrow road win at Charlotte, but it looks like they’re about to go through some growing pains following the trade of their leading scorer Tobias Harris. The Pacers have had to deal with the loss of their leading scorer to injury, but they’ve been punching above their weight like we saw in their massive win over the Lakers on Tuesday. This one could go either way, but the Clippers are just 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings and I think that trend continues as the Pacers stay hot with a win and cover here.
