The Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Clippers meet Tuesday in NBA action at the Staples Center.
The Charlotte Hornets look for a spark of consistency after splitting their last 10 games. The Charlotte Hornets are averaging 113 points on 45.5 percent shooting and allowing 111.7 points on 46.3 percent shooting. Kemba Walker is averaging 25.4 points and 5.8 assists while Jeremy Lamb is averaging 15.3 points and 5.6 rebounds. Malik Monk is the third double-digit scorer and Marvin Williams is grabbing 5.6 rebounds. The Charlotte Hornets are shooting 35.7 percent from beyond the arc and 79.3 percent from the free throw line. The Charlotte Hornets are allowing 34.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 44.4 rebounds per game. The Charlotte Hornets have lost five of their last seven road games.
The Los Angeles Clippers look for another victory after winning six of their last nine games. The Los Angeles Clippers are averaging 115.7 points on 47.4 percent shooting and allowing 114.3 points on 45.4 percent shooting. Tobias Harris is averaging 21.1 points and eight rebounds while Danilo Gallinari is averaging 19.5 points and 2.4 assists. Lou Williams is the third double-digit scorer and Montrezl Harrell is grabbing 6.6 rebounds. The Los Angeles Clippers are shooting 38.2 percent from beyond the arc and 80.5 percent from the free throw line. The Los Angeles Clippers are allowing 34.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45.9 rebounds per game. The Los Angeles Clippers have split their last eight home games.
The Hornets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games, 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. Western Conference and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The Clippers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Hornets are 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings in LA and 5-12 ATS in the last 17 meetings. The under is 4-1 in Clippers last 5 overall. The over is 4-1 in Hornets last 5 overall.
The Charlotte Hornets are simply not a good basketball team unless Kemba plays out of his mind and carries the way. In their last five games, the Hornets are allowing over 117 points on 47.3 percent shooting, and they're simply not good enough offensively to counter those numbers. The Los Angeles Clippers have started to heat up again with wins in six of their last nine games, and they're a solid 12-7 ATS at home this season. I'll lay the reasonable number with the Clippers at home, as I'm just not big on the Hornets and never have been.
